READ A BEE-AUTY
Review of Clan Apis #5

This mini-series is for kids, but be warned: The copy that came into the office is no longer in Mint condition, because there's a big wet teardrop spot on the last page - so be careful when you read, if you're trying to preserve this for investment purposes. For that matter, one of the best uses you can put this mini-series is to hand it to kids for their delight, understanding and schooling. (And kids are certainly going to wear this out with rereading.)

Hosler should wear an identification badge reading, "Has deep bee knowledge." Bees are actually his scientific specialty. But the guy known to many CBG readers as the creator of Cow-Boy is a cartoonist, as well, and he's come up with a magnificent sample of the best in educational entertainment.

His heroine is pollen-gatherer Nyuki, and, as the issue begins, she is clearly nearing the end of what she can do for the hive. But Hosler does far more than simply chronicle the life of a worker. Now that it's completed, his mini-series deserves wider circulation and preservation as a hardcover for generations of readers to come.
